You Can Make a Difference

We welcome our community’s support in the form of time, talent, and resources.  We look for time and talent in tutoring as well as in other forms of
volunteering such as  providing community goods and services to our learners and their families.  We welcome monetary and in-kind contributions as well.

Learning isn’t only about being able to read. It’s about being able to find and keep a job. It allows people to fill out job applications, write and understand letters and memos, and complete paperwork accurately. One of every two adults in our nation is unable to read well enough to understand printed information.

Adults in this community want to learn. That’s why we need you; to help us help them. Tutors can volunteer in one of our classes to help the instructors. In addition to learning to read, learners may require help in writing, math, or GED® preparation. Tutors need to complete a 6 hour on-line training program and are asked to spend a minimum of three hours per week with a learner.
